At 11:51 PM, the Taurus New Moon arrives to help us connect with undiscovered assets and sources of pleasures. This is an excellent time to start new things, as what you start today and tomorrow, will grow and become bigger as the Moon does between now and the full moon.

Pluto trines this Sun-Moon conjunction and deepens perceptions and overcomes the tendency for Taurus to be a bit lazy (think of a big, slow moving Ox!). This powerful aspect may also reveal new ways to recover losses and turn those into gains. It is also a great time to find value in items or abilities that you would normally overlook.

Great news! This past Saturday, Mercury stationed direct! Whew…we made it through another one. This means information will flow more freely and everything should start running more smoothly: communication, electronics, relationships, well, pretty much everything.

Today is a little bit light on the planetary front. The moon moves into Pisces at 9:58 pm and conjuncts Neptune an hour later. This is a perfect time for compassion, imagination, and spirituality.

Today will be relatively quiet. There are favorable lunar transits today with Mars at 10:54 am (Pacific) and Saturn at 7:28 pm. This provides a healthy balance of enthusiasm and order. Relationship repairs are also possible, given a very clever and well-aspected quintile between loving Venus and healing Pluto at 4:34 am.

There is a powerful square between Mars and Pluto today at 1:37 pm (Pacific). This is a tense aspect that can stir aggression and provoke anger. However, this alignment can also cut through any distractions so we can concentrate our efforts to overcome obstacles.

The Moon moves into Leo at 8:37 pm. This fixed fire sign brings the heat but uses it to bolster individual will and sustain intense effort. At 8:59 pm, retrograde Mercury joins visionary Jupiter in Aries to blow our minds with breakthrough ideas or induce sudden understanding of previously hard-to-grasp concepts. Unfortunately, we may become too in love with these insights that we overstate their importance. It’s wise to wait until Mercury turns direct and rejoins Jupiter on May 11 to see whether these perceptions still make sense.
